After that it got pretty late, and we both had to go, but it was great seeing Annie again. I... I realized what a terrific person she was, and... and how much fun it was just knowing her; and I... I, I thought of that old joke, y'know, the, this... this guy goes to a psychiatrist and says, "Doc, uh, my brother's crazy; he thinks he's a chicken." And, uh, the doctor says, "Well, why don't you turn him in?" The guy says, "I would, but I need the eggs." Well, I guess that's pretty much now how I feel about relationships; y'know, they're totally irrational, and crazy, and absurd, and... but, uh, I guess we keep goin' through it because, uh, most of us... need the eggs.

Nothing Fails
Someone told me once that whenever there was a doubt, the answer was always ‘no’. That is supposed to be applied to every single doubt coming up in life. Failure to agree with this led me to make the biggest mistake I ever made. I thought I could live with the doubt but it turned out to be impossible. Eventually I said ‘no’, but it was a little bit too late. Time heals the pain away, but it cannot remove all the tiny thorns stabbed in the soul. Some will remain forever, and when they hurt, then memories that slept back at the mind come to the front.
Life would be much easier if there was only one path. No hesitation, no wondering. Because making decisions is a whole lot more complex than we might think. It is not just the right decision that has to be taken, but also the right time to do so. The right thing three minutes late is no longer right. And besides, the right thing on time may affect negatively upon someone else.
All the decisions we make are the basis of the way we follow. We must acknowledge that making up our minds may be dangerous, but we cannot do anything but resign and keep on deciding. After all, pain (finally) goes away and who knows... perhaps we find an opportunity to sort out wrong decisions some miles further on in our lives. Because I believe that in the end nothing fails.
